Bio
Slave is one of the New York City's most highly regarded stlye masters of the subway era. He resided in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn. He was also known for his work in the whole car movement with The Faubulous 5. His best known works were on the 5, 2 and RR subway lines. SLAVE was amoung crew members of the Fabulous who painted the only entire 10 car subway train to run in service. (The Freedom Train predates it by a few months, but the train cars were seperated before they entered service.) SLAVE was known for bold top -to - bottom whole cars. He was also a master of color and letterforms evidenced in the numerous cars he produced with his partner GLI 167. He also partnered with LEE to create some of the most admired whole cars of the era.
