His most famous subway painting, done in 1979 with LEE Quinones was a tribute to Andy Warhol's Campbells' Soup cans. His work gained attention of art dealers as well the graffiti community. His 1979 exhibition at Galleria Medusa in Rome with LEE Quinones, Italy marked the earliest, if not the first European exhibition of graffiti art. His paintings have been displayed internationally with the likes of Keith Haring, LEE Quinones and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
He is credited for his efforts in introducing America and the world to Hip Hop Culture. He utilized his connections both in the media and on the street to help the global expansion of Hip Hop.
Brathwaith has also done a great deal of work in the recording and film industries. He is known for his cult hit record
