Where and what year did you start writing?
On the Lower in 1977, my first tag was KATO; eventually I went with my nickname CHINO.

Which writers inspired you to become a writer?
Self driven inspiration.

What borough are you originally from?
The Lower East Side of Manhattan.

How did you get your name?
I look a little chinky so in Spanish Chinese is chino.

Who are the oldest Lower East Side writers you remember?
LEE, of course. CISCO aka PEO, CONE 101, MONO.

Where and what year did you start writing on trains?
In Astoria Queens mostly motion tags, then the lay-ups in 1979-80.

What lines have you hit?
BMTs and INDs.

What crews have you written for ?
CW, TMA, RTW, TSS, TNA, to name a few.

How did RW start?
I met with the 3ster. He came up with Rock Well.

Did RW have any rivals?
Not really, but if any crew came close it had to be TNS.

Who was your most successful partner?
CHINO 3. None other.

When did you quit?
1983-84, my first incarceration was to blame.

Who were the most popular writers of your era?
There are way to many to name.

Are you currently involved in art in any capacity?
No.

Any closing words?
Just that I as a writer appreciate what you are doing to keep graffiti alive and in the history books.
